Hartford Insurance had a legacy version with poor usability and performance. The goal was to create a new application combining two product lines while utilizing the performance of new cloud servers.
As principal UX UI Designer on a team of 10 — PM, scrum master, developers, and engineers — I led user research, created OOUX for aligning content of both units, built an MVP to test usability, and developed a new combined application. I created three alternate concept sketches to get quick buy-in from key product team members.
Meetings with all product owners and reviews of MVP feedback enabled me to create a highly usable UI design with dashboards, tools, and added user value. The new UI was well received and developed, starting with the MVP-tested features. Weekly alignment with all PMs kept the team building the right things.
The weekly meeting cadence with all PMs, combined with continuous user contact, gave real assurance that we were developing the right features from the start.
